Tell me about “New Mathematics”? What are the inspirations and themes of the new work?

“New Mathematics” represents a linear progression of the personal artwork that I have been developing over the last 5 years. Along with always carefully controlling the final results in my design and product based work, I also started challenged myself to create more organic artwork that revolved around a celebration of natural line quality, motion and the beauty of imperfection. Using type and certain recognizable icons as my first points of departure, I have continued working towards also synthesizing these elements with my love of abstraction and geometry.

My work has always been deeply rooted in balance and symmetry, starting all the way back with my original graffiti name SE3, which I created as more of a symbol than name with inherent meaning. In many ways, with “New Mathematics”, I have gone all the way back to this original essence.

But where some of my earlier fine artwork had been more reductionist in terms of it’s approach, this body of work incorporates much more complex dynamics, with certain algorithms having taken on a life of their own. Hopefully, this collection achieves a kind of transparency between all of the mediums I have always been involved in, while still clearly representing the direction of a new language I have now established for myself.

A few posts back i put up this video of a Police officer beating a 15 year old kid inside a Chicago public school…

It turns out this piece of shit cop has a history of violence and is now in jail in Indiana on a rape charge.

A Dolton cop caught on camera allegedly breaking a 15-year-old special needs student’s nose for failing to tuck in his shirt has a troubling history that includes killing a man in a case of disputed self-defense.

The officer is now in an Indiana jail on an unrelated rape charge.

Christopher Lloyd, 38, was identified today by his father, Charles Lloyd, and Dolton Mayor Ronnie Lewis as the officer who in May was videotaped by a school security camera scuffling with 15-year-old, 140-pound Marshawn Pitts at the Academy for Learning in Dolton.

An attorney hired by Pitts’ parents released the videotape earlier this week, calling the incident an “unprovoked attack” on a vulnerable child. The tape, which has no audio, appears to show the officer slam Pitts against a locker, wrestle him to the ground and pin him.

San Diego (CBS – A San Diego police officer has been placed on administrative leave without pay, while the El Cajon Police Department investigates allegations of sexual assault. A woman says she was raped by the officer and another woman.

A source tells CBS 8 the officer in question is Art Perea. CBS 8 has also learned the alleged victim says it happened at her home in El Cajon.

El Cajon Police Lieutenant Mark Coit told CBS 8, “From what we’ve learned so far, she was an acquaintance with the suspects.” He says the department received a phone call from a hospital last Wednesday, where the alleged victim was being treated after stating she’d been raped. No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed. Coit said, “We’re waiting on some test results from the medical examination and that kind of thing, so we’re looking for facts.”

Hey Mom & Dad, stop watching the garbage on TV and in the news, shopping online and reading celebrity gossip. Spend a little time searching the web, these videos are in abundance by the 100′s…

-This post is sure to ruffle some feathers and possibly damage a few relationships… But i cant bite my tongue on this one since it involves a dear friend and crew member of mine SEVER MSK.

So… I was eating dinner tonight entertaining myself with my iphone browsing the web, I came across something mentioning a recent show at Subliminal Projects in L.A. involving 2 of the most important and influential graffiti artists in history… And one poser. The title of this show ironically was “3 kings” -I nearly threw-up my salad.

Now FUTURA 2000 & LEE QUINONES are undeniably kings in every respect, and I have the highest respect for both artists and in no way aim to disrespect them. I think every writer on the planet would agree they are true kings in every respect… But this less than fabulous Freddie character is a lame and NEVER WAS A GRAFFITI WRITER/ARTIST. Actually let me make a correction… He painted some really shitty piece on a movie set, a music video, started a piece once on one train and didnt finish… and caught a few tags around a trendy neighborhood were a few key galleries were located in the 80′s… This in no way qualifies him as anything but a wanna-be and a perpetrator. To show this lame alongside true legends FUTURA & LEE is a travesty and insult to the culture.

Now I bet your wondering why I am going so hard at poor Fab-5 and knocking the guy’s hustle… Under any other circumstances I’d have a chuckle and go about my business… But I absolutely can not leave this one alone because that shit Fab-5 tried to present in a gallery as “original art” isn’t original. Fab’s “art” is composed entirely of stolen bits and pieces from my friend SEVER’s art… And its reproduced tragically might i add. Here is a guy who was NEVER a graffiti writer… Posing as a “king of graffiti” -All the while stealing from a REAL graffiti writer. SEVER is a world renown & globally recognized & respected graffiti artist… I bet “King FAB 5″ doesn’t even know who SEVER is and stumbled across SEVER’s work doing a google search… FUCKING PATHETIC.

Surely “King Fab-5″ would have a long catalogue of his own work to “sample” from to create original pieces for his art show right? -Wrong, he doesn’t have shit because he never did shit.

SEVER’s S upside down as well as a E from a SEVER piece. The top letter is a Y, flipped upside down and stolen from YES2 out of the Bronx.

I guess “King FAB-5″ thought if he put SEVER’s V upside=down nobody would notice… WRONG.

Again, SEVER’s R is the central focus here, turned 45 degrees counter-clockwise surrounded by more elements from SEVER’s pieces.

SEVER’s E is at the center here, rotated 180 degrees counter-clockwise. Looks like a M belonging to TOTEM is also center.

-It seems “King Fab-5″ got his hands on a book my friends and I did a few years ago titled “The Exchange” This book is where he stole all of SEVER’s work from.

Now to the non graffiti-ist might not initially recognize what has been stolen… But any experienced writer will spot it immediately. One of the first codes a graffiti artist learns is the value of originality, and that stealing or “Biting” another artists work is frowned upon… Surely a “king” should be well aware of this fundamental rule. It’s a real shame I have to be a prick and pull Fab-5′s card like this, after all I grew up watching Yo’ MTV raps… And apparently the guy was partially responsible for the film “Wild Style” being made for christ’s sake… But Dude’s a fraud & a thief. Photoshopping an other artists work onto a canvas and presenting it as yours isn’t acceptable. I pity the poor bastard that bought into a line of bullshit and spent his or her $ on that garbage.
